Restrictions On Divorce Records Search

In general, most states allow the general public to access divorce records. However, there are different limitations and regulations on the divorce records search depending on the state. Some states will allow anyone to walk in and request a copy of the marital documents. Other states require you to pay a small fee for the extracting of the documents and the time spent to do so. Because of the Internet those fees are greatly reduced because the computer system automatically delivers results. A divorce record is available to all interested public parties. The only difference between the states’s is the level of restrictions on the obtaining the documents.
