Follow the Donchian trend following system
One of the fathers of the modern trend systems is Richard Davoud Donchian. His system, known mostly as the Donchian trend following system, was developed in mid seventies, but is still valid and profitable today as well. The basic rule in this system is the 4 weeks rule, which has been the base for many systems to come later on these last years. What is mostly impressive about it is that it works equally well on both up and down trends, although doesn’t follow well the sideways ones. It might not be very trendy but it’s definitely the one that outperforms most of the modern systems today.
