Men’s neckties

Ever since Avril Lavigne wore men’s neckties as part of her efforts to project a new, deconstructed image, there are hordes of women who have followed suit. Thus, new markets were opened for mens ties and sales undoubtedly picked up. Tie-makers should thank the singer for helping them enter a new niche, women’s accessories, without having to do extensive market research, product testing, launching and advertising – all the works required when entering a niche market. All they have to do now is display their men’s ties in the women’s accessories section of the department stores, and their cash registers will work like crazy.
