Door Closers: The Types
Door closer–a mechanical contraption that obviously–as its name suggests, closes a door. It does it function specifically when someone opens the door and leaves it as is–will it then automatically close the door. Basically, there are two kinds of door closers: the manual door closer and the automatic. Manual door closers come in two main forms– the overhead and jamb mounted. The Overhead door closers (e.g. those from Briton, Dorma and Geze) can be concealed or surface mounted. Meanwhile, the jamb mounted door closers (the likes of the Perko-Powermatic) fit between the door and the door frame, and are totally concealed when the door is closed. Putting one in your door would be necessary to ensure that when you come in your house or go out your room, you won’t have to take a second glance if your door is closed when you go in or leave.
