Don’t Overdo The Grains When Dieting

Every healthy diet will contain some choices from the grain group that includes pasta, rice, bread, and cereal. However, you don’t want to overdo the grains, even whole grains. Good examples of low carb foods that aren’t whole grains are vegetables such as greens (lettuce, cabbage, spinach, kale), broccoli, cauliflower, celery and radishes. All vegetables are good for you, but the aforementioned have some of the lowest carbs of all. Vegetables that you may wish to avoid if you want to go really low-carb are potatoes, corn, peas, winter squash, and sometimes carrots. Of course, not just vegetables are low-carb foods. Meats, being primarily protein, are also low-carb.
