Arthritis and gout symptoms

Arthritis has two main categories which is based on the areas of the body affected, ‘localized’ or ‘generalized’; this is further divided in to sub categories. The two localized conditions are bursitis and tendonitis; they affect the soft tissues surrounding the bones and joints. A sub-category of this affects one or some of the joints like hip or knee joints. Generalized Arthritis Conditions: The first sub-category for generalized conditions is for those that affect the muscle and soft tissue where there is no evidence of swelling or inflammation. In this condition there is no evident kind of damage caused to the joints and is known as Fibromyalgia; this form of the condition is widespread among people.

In the second sub-group is a condition in which the person suffering from this condition may have swelling on the whole body. Under this category, rheumatoid arthritis would be an example of a condition you would see, along with psoriatic arthritis and gout symptoms. Other generalized conditions are polymyositis (muscles); systemic lupus erythematosus (skin, kidneys, or other organs); and vasculitis (any organ).

An individual is capable of having more than just one arthritis type and it includes over one hundred different medical conditions that are known to affect roughly forty six million adults and three hundred thousand children within the United States. As early on as infancy, this condition can begin, even though it is most commonly seen in adults that are over the age of sixty, in the primary form of osteoarthritis. The number of sufferers is on the increase at the same pace as the population of America.

America spends over 124 billion dollars every year on arthritis related problems. Osteoarthritis can easily be prevented by following few easy steps: consume more fresh fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamin c and vitamin d and also maintain appropriate weight. There should also be sufficient calcium intake, 1000-1500mg per day for adults; in addition regular, moderate exercise can help preventing sports injuries that can aggravate a condition.
