You and your husband are going to start your own business by selling used cars.  So how do you fill in your auto dealers license application?  Well, the best place to start is your local DMV website.  There’s usually loads of useful information here and you can check exactly which license it is that suits you best – the 3 types are:

 

Wholesale Auto Dealers License:  you can sell cars to car dealers and wholesalers (but not the public) and buy cars at car auctions
Retail Auto Dealers License: do everything a wholesale dealers license allows you to plus sell cars to the public
Auto Broker: lets you take car consignments for customers
